2012 Oklahoma Red Dirt Trail Running Championships

Don’t let the lofty title fool you, as you can tell by reading the flyer below, this is a great “Fatass” event at Lake Thunderbird that you are guaranteed to enjoy. Oh, did I mention free beer and no entry fee? Awesome. Just bring some cash because they will be collecting for a worthy cause, the Norman Relay for Life.

  1. I love this event! One of my favorites all year. :) I love the low-key vibe. Which distance are you going to run this year?

  2. It is awesome isn’t it? Heh. Last year the RD’s daughter made the awards out of cardboard, ribbons, etc. I display mine in my office. It’s awesome!

My tentative plan is to run a 50K. I will need to put in some long runs pretty regularly if I want to do my first 50 milers on July (Midnight Madness). Of course, I don’t want to get ahead of myself. McMurtry this weekend! That will be a good test of exactly where I’m at in terms of fitness.

I love this one too! I’m doing the 25K. Haven’t ran the gold loop in awhile. Excited!
